Dear All
Believe it or not, the attempt to have a play area for our children and future village children, has been going on for over 18 months. The reason for this is partly due to untimely lapses of memory and the PC being supplied with the sale of The Green documentation with important sections missing (people may have their own opinions as to why this was, I couldn’t possibly comment!). Those of us around at the time were aware of the agreement but were unable to obtain the complete, relevant documents. Now that they are available, it can be shown quite clearly, that OFL [Oxborough Farms Ltd] and the PC both signed the agreement that, if ever desired, a playground could be erected in an area behind the bus shelter. The document is legally binding and doesn’t need to be verified by a solicitor. The PC should give 14 days notice in case there are any legitimate objections and then give the go-ahead for the work to start. The entrance should be through the gate on the corner of Foulden Rd and Swaffham Rd for the time being, and a path laid to a gate in the fence when erected round the play area, in the future, but this should not hold up the construction. The ‘five year plan’ is absurd and not worthy of discussion.
Graham.
