About this time of year we normally organise an evening of carols in the church. This year of course that can’t happen, but we can sing carols outside. There are fewer opportunities to sing carols this year, and so I thought we could have an outside carol concert to bring another festive note to the village.
If we all wrap up warmly and each household stays 2 metres apart from each other it should work well. If it is a dry evening we can spread out from the North aisle into the grassed area of the nave. If it rains we will have to wear our waterproofs! Martyn has kindly agreed to play the organ for us. I will print carol sheets. The outside lights will come on probably, but I will also put lanterns on the window cills in the North aisle. I thought a 6pm start on a Sunday evening was probably about right. We won’t be there for hours as it will be too cold – just long enough to sing some favourite carols.
